OTTAWA (CP) -- The country's highest court won't reopen the Robert Latimer case. The Supreme Court of Canada offered no reasons Tuesday as it dismissed an application to rehear the emotionally charged case of the Saskatchewan farmer who killed his disabled daughter in what he maintains was an act of mercy.

no real choice on the courts part. Unless they want to invalidate our country's euthanasia laws as unconstitutional the court can't do anything, and I don't like unelected officials changing laws made by elected ones (although I am for assisted suicide)

What's the tlc viewpoint? Just curious. I sympathize with Latimer, but also with the opposing point of view. No easy answer here.
