last minute vacations

I am thinking of taking a week off and going somewhere last minute.... I don't care where, as long as it is hot. I guess what I am looking for is best possible resort least possible cost....

does anyone have the skinny on this?

Expedia.ca often has last minute stuff listed. I tend to use this site for research but then book directly as you can often get better deals directly.

Having said that, Expedia is covered by TICO... which could come in handy!

i tried this for the end of december...
found great deals 2-3 weeks out... thought they would get better if i waited another week or so... they disappeared...
don't wait too long...
i use redtag.ca... it's never failed me...

I check different websites like the ones mentioned along with itravel2000.ca and once I find what I'm looking for, I call my friend who owns a local travel agency and he books the trip for me at the same listed price or better. I book 2 weeks before the trip because I find that the deals will disappear once the vacancies starts to fill up.
