Dear Friends, my parents are gonna be visiting me in December, and I am gonna take them to Vegas, it's my first time to vegas and I am planning this trip all by myself,

I've checked out Expedia.ca and found the airfare and hotel room combo to be around $800 Cdn,

I am asking for advice on what to do next and what to watch for, where to find deals for shows and stuff...

all tried and true tips are welcome,

thank you

my first problem, my mom's from Quebec so she's a bit of a Celine Dion fan, but apparently the show is sold out for 6months in a row, what to do?

I believe you can get cheap tickets for shows at the Coke store. Unfortunately you don't get a say in which show it is and its a heck of a line up.

Be careful when looking for tickets. Avoid those street peddlers that try and get you to come in and look at their brochures for free tickets. It's a scam.

Oh, and "X" is supposed to be the raciest, most exciting show in vegas. It totally blew. What a waste of 80 bucks.

Have fun!!!

P.S. Mandalay Bay has the best pool.

By the way, what hotel are you planning on staying at? That sounds a little too cheap for three people planning on staying for more than one day, which I'm assuming you are. Just want to make sure you're not getting a skanky hotel. I also forgot to mention, Vegas.com is a really helpful website.

Check out www.lasvegastaxi.com which is supposed to be a taxi driver's view of the city . It is a great site as they review the best and the worst of the city, as well there is a message board dealing with almost any topic from the best cathouse to the best and worst buffets. Remember the golden rule for Vegas is that if you do not ask they will not tell you. You do not have to be a gambler to enjoy a trip as there is lots to see and do.Take the trams that run from casino to casino as they are more economical than taxis. In fact it might be well worth your while to rent a car to see the sights and you could even take a drive over to the Grand Canyon. Lots of great meal deals too if you care to search them out. Dress warm as December is very cool especially at night.Have fun!

Goo leader,

I'll be in Las Vegas in December and Jan, too! I'll be staying at the Luxor. I've got tickets for the Blue Man Group. Heard lots of good stuff about them but I think it might not appeal to your mom.

So I should give "X" a miss, huh? My girlfriend and I are interested in one of the "erotic" shows. Does anyone else have any ideas?

thanks
