There was an excellent past thread that I can't find, on the best way to maintain your laptop battery for maximun life. Just bought a Toshiba laptop (with an AMD Turion™ 64 X2 mobile technology TL-60; 2GB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM). Of course it is brand new and so far I'm very impressed with it. Tested out the battery after it was fully charged for the first time and it ran for 2 hours and 35 minutes before the battery was drained. I've read in the past that if you leave the battery in all the time and mainly use the AC adaptor, which most people do, the battery life is shortened because it is always going through the recharging cycles. Then when you go out in the field they complain the battery only lasts ~30 minutes. Guess all laptop batteries can only be recharged ~150 times and then loose their ability to hold a full charge. That past thread said the best way around that was to remove your battery and store it when mainly using the AC adaptor. This way the battery will last years longer and be there for you when you need it out in the field. What I couldn't remember was the best way to store your battery with either a partial or a full charge. That past thread had a very good link that specified this, as a way to keep your battery from becoming depleted and useless in less than a year.
Does anyone recall this or that 'battery care link'?
