laptop as a tv receiver

I have recently purchased a HP laptop, and as i'm moving to the carribean for a few years, was wondering if anybody had some thoughts as what, if anything I can hook up to my laptop which can turn it into a tv. Since it does not have video card like a desk top, I would be interested in other peoples ideas, or recommendations.

I don't have much specific expertise on this but when I was doing some reasearch for 3rd video output for a laptop I came across these TV tuner-type add-ons...

These are just two I googled. I saw some other similar devices but you are basically looking at a USB2.0 dongle or PCMCIA card.

Is this so you can plug in your local cable into your laptop or are you looking to pickup broadcast from Canada (eh?). Slingbox is the appliance that you can look at if you have access to a cable link in Canada along with an internet connection.
