I have a Bell landline telephone. What is the most cost efficient method of making long distance calls? Should I use Bell long distance? What about using "YAK" (I can't believe it is a phone company)?
I have Primus... 40hrs LD anywhere in Canada (and USA too I think...) for $23.00JohnHenry said:We just did a new deal with Bell for $72/month unlimited calls in Canada and the US.
yak has been around for a while now.Rockslinger said:I have a Bell landline telephone. What is the most cost efficient method of making long distance calls? Should I use Bell long distance? What about using "YAK" (I can't believe it is a phone company)?
If the ladies are using call display I am not sure your name and # would show up if you used yak. I have used Yak before and it is a good service.Rockslinger said:Ok, here is the rest of the story. I have a bunch of cell numbers from SC dancers with area codes like 902, 514, 613, 519, 705, even 905, etc. The charges on my cellphone, even though I frequently use text messaging, is killing me. So, I need a low cost voice calling method using my landline. (The problem with a 902 area code cellphone is that there is a long distance charge even if the person and cell are physically in Toronto.)
Yes, I love to chat with dancers and text messaging just doesn't do it for me.
Thanks. Do you just follow the instructions on the YAK ad and dial "10-10-925"? Does the charge show up in your Bell bill?hunter001 said:I have used Yak before and it is a good service.

This sounds great. Who is the service provider (no pun intended)? Are they a reputable outfit?blueman said:10-10-229 costs 2 cents per minute for Canada and the US
billed to your home phone number
Maybe I should have added that the 72 includes the telephone, caller-id, answering machine, house wiring insurance, etcCycleguy007 said:I have Primus... 40hrs LD anywhere in Canada (and USA too I think...) for $23.00
I didn't know this. How do I find out the 416 local number? Does the dancer call her cell company provider and ask them? Do I call the cell company and ask them?LordLoki said:all cell companies have local numbers in 416 that can be used to access cell as a local call if the phone is physically in 416 area code

Thanks, but I do not want a fix fee because my calls are so unpredictable. Maybe the best solution is for me to find out what is the dancer's local 416 telephone number when she is physically in the 416 area code.lavameltme said:Vonage 23 bucks a month. Canada US free.
