Land Speculation?

I would like to learn more about land speculation. Is it a good investment? Are there any excellent books or courses on the subject?

You really need to be dialed in with someone in planning department when they discuss 20 and 25 year plans for areas
then you gotta be willing to sit on it for a long time.and hope a change of officials and sitting politicians doesnt kill the plan

I guess there are various degrees of speculation. I've invested in some real estate investment and development projects through a company that offers investment units in these, and they have done fairly well. Some better than others, but all have been successful. Personally I would rather invest in land this way, than take all the risks myself. I'll PM you a link just so you can see the sort of thing I am talking about.
