Ok, just got back from another SEA trip and this time it included KL, Malaysia. I've played in Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia so this time it's West Malaysia.
Just general impressions for now and I may be back to give more detailed reviews. First, the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, when you exit it, it is just like Jakarta's exit. I could swear that I was back in JKT with all of the traffic, mayhem, taxis, buses and road.
Hot and humid as expected. Public transit is crowded and slightly decrepit but overall not bad. Taxis will try to cheat you but if you stay in the Bukit Bintang area you can walk everywhere you need to a great extent.
Ended up in a 4-star hotel which is what some people call Malaysian-rated 4-star so it is more like a 3-star in Western terms. Supposedly, KL hotels are girl-friendly but it would be pretty hard to walk in with a girl in this one. It caters to a more conservative Muslim clientele than Western hotels such as the Ritz and so on.
I had not the time nor the inclination to hit up Beach Club or Thai Club which are the notorious pick up places in KL. There, you are supposed to be able to find Filipinas, Indos, Thai, Africans, Russians and so on.
For convenience and because they were so near my hotel I stuck with E2 Health Spa and Genesis Health Spa. I also visited Sky River and Green Elephant. E2 and Genesis were great but I wish I had had more time because the Genesis girl was incredible! Her name is Diamond.
Sky River was a class lower but very friendly. Unfortunately, very few girls in the afternoon and none that attracted me. Green Elephant also friendly but a class lower than Sky River. Lot more girls but none attractive.
Prices were Ringgit 238 for E2 and 268 for Genesis. Sky and Green were a lot cheaper.
I'd definitely hit KL again. Food is pretty good and varied, infrastructure and services decent and prices are good.
