Doing the cool uncle thing, coming to the GTA with my niece and nephew, 10 and 8 respectively. Nice intelligent and inquisitive kids. Thinking to hit the CN Tower and the Ontario Science Centre. What else would be good for kids this time of year?

Thanks - KK

On Oct. 20, there is a free movies for kids morning at Cineplex Theatres. Different movies to choose from.

The food and drinks are $2.00 each, with the proceeds going to their Starlight charity.

Depending on where your nephew and niece are from, here are some suggestions they may enjoy: children's theater (e.g., there may be some shows at the Mississauga Living Arts Center), cultural activities (e.g., visiting Little Italy, Greektown, Chinatown, etc.), the Metro Toronto Zoo (still OK to be outdoors and I think they have some things going on around Halloween), Canada's Wonderland, Sega City, Dave & Buster's, Joe Rockheads, High Park, Fort York, and Casa Loma. If they are from really far away, I would say a trip to Niagara Falls can be a lot of fun too -- the Falls (of course), hiking or biking by the river, the wax museum, Rainforest Cafe (also at Yorkdale Mall), the artificial skydiving place (sorry, I don't know what this is called), Great Wolf Lodge, Fort George, a helicopter ride.

This will make you a hero. I speak from experience. Kids love the go karts and bumper cars. They all want to drive.

Thanks Celticman. I must have dated myself by referring to Playdium as Sega City.

Here's another suggestion on top of the earlier ones if your nephew and niece are hockey fans -- the Hockey Hall of Fame. You can group that together with a meal at The Marche -- kind of a neat experience for kids to choose their own food -- and then explore around the underground concourse.
