Actually in Canada the dealers and anti theft legislation kind of have you by the balls.
I bought my Volt second hand at the dealer and never thought to ask how many keys before agreeing to the deal.
I asked and was quoted $800 for a second electronic fob and cut emergency physical key that fits into the fob.
I looked around and all indy key shops said they could not help me.
Of course the dealer price quote was minutes after they figured out the Level 2 at home EVSE charger they sold with the car thinking they could get a fed rebate for it would not apply on used cars.
So I got a $1200 charger that they thought there would be a fed rebate for and had to eat it at $1200.
So that more than likely pushed up the key quote price.

I got one done by a guy on Bathurst I believe , maye a km or so south of the 401. But it was not a mercedes. But is was a newish car that needed reprogramming etc. Took maybe 30 mins.
I'll see if I| see the ad somewhere.
While I was there he was getting a call from a car dealership in Barrie, and he was going to go there to make one for them.
Found it, 3546 Bathurst Upstairs.
