I am in day two

No carbs is the concept

you can not eat as much as you want but you will want less as you fill up quickly as protein make you full

This morning tofu mixed with egg and curry spice and coffee and spinach tossed in

gonna buy some keto friendly bread with peanut butter or just make my own

  1. Mix peanut butter + egg in a mug.
  2. Add coconut flour or any carb free flour + baking powder.
  3. Add 1 tbsp water first — add more only if too thick.
  4. Microwave 70–90 seconds.
  5. Cool briefly before eating.

not hungry so far but this food will get boring in a week

apparently i will lose 5 pounds quickly but that is water then i go into ketosis after a few days then i lose fat

2 pounds per week is reasonable

fibre is needed so I will buy some along with magnesium glycinate

Fasting is a great way to kick start your weight loss journey. I recommend a 96 hour (4 day) water fast. Black coffee and water is all I drank.

* Day 1: 0 - 24 hours. The body uses up the store of glucose and glycerin your system. You get pretty hungry on this day, but this is the peak of being hungry for the next 96 hours (and more). I find I urinate much more than usual on the first day, probably flushing out the glucose. I usually masturbate to help me get to sleep.
* Day 2: 24 - 48 hours. Black coffee and water. Surprisingly not as hungry as I thought I would be. Ketosis kicks in (fat is turned into molecules called ketones), Autophagy stage starts. It is how your body clears out damaged cells (think of it as a spring cleaning). I begin to have a clearer, more focused mental state and feel pretty good. I can exercise, if I feel like it without feeling weak or dizzy. Drinking water but not urinating as much.
* Day 3: 48 - 72 hours. In full fat burning mode, insulin is low, ketones are high, and growth hormone levels increase to protect muscle. By this time I am not hungry at all. Actually feel really good, positive, and in control. It is almost a strange "high", but no where near the feeling of being stoned on weed, a different high...
* Day 4: 72 - 96 hours. There is research that suggests your immune system resets and your white cells have dropped which triggers the body to use stem cells to create new white cells. On this day I plan what I want to eat and it varies, Though I am not hungry, I am looking forward to a treat, so I usually make a burger out of steak and have a hamburger, No matter what you eat, about 2 -4 hours later it will give you the runs and ring of fire. A couple of trips later, and some water and things are back to normal.

I try to fast once every 3 - 4 months, mainly to boost my immune system.

I’ve found that making protein the main focus in my meals has made me consistent in losing weight and keeps me satiated for longer periods of time. I love carbs too much to ever cut out of my diet  I don’t believe that cutting any food groups out of your diet has any benefits in the long run.
Best of luck with your journey!!

Keep us updated on how it goes 😃

You'll lose weight but its not sustainable unless you can go all your life eating that food. I like to have a slice of pizza or two once in a while. Once you go very low carb you become hypersensitive to the first bite of carbs and you lose control.

At night, try some chia Seeds. Let soak in warm water or pomegranate juice with two thimble fulls of methylene blue food grade edition on amazon.ca (I might have a discount code I think I can share). In the morning, mix chia seeds with pineapple chunks, grapefruit juice, turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, a little bit of Redmond Salt, or pink Himalayan. And then just mix in a high powered blender. Say goodbye to all your stomach liver kidney and gut issues. And take a look at what happens to your skin/mood/and energy in under 2 weeks. Hmmmm..
💕🔥.
And thanks Ref, for all of this as well. Best.💕🔥

Previously, I would have agreed that fad diets don’t work. Like how just detoxing off opiates doesn’t address the underlying condition You can get clean, only to relapse because you haven’t changed your mindset.

I went with something similar to keto. NSNG. No sugar no grain, as Vinnie Torotich calls it. I heard Tim Ferris taking about his diet book. I didn't read it. I just very strictly cut out all sugars and grain, potatoes, bread, rice, fruit and fruit juice, all crappy carbs. I dropped 55 lbs within several month, 225lbs to 170. Slow enough not to get saggy skin, thankfully. Continued working out, gaining a little muscle weight ,and got to my comfortable weight of 176

I found that I was often eating because I was shaky, not really hungry, due to insulin spikes. I’ve always been very sensitive to sugar since I was a kid. Never diabetic but even when fasting my blood sugar labs are high.

The key to it is to have a cheat day, or at least a meal. Mine was Sunday for football, and before kicking off a new week. If I set out to never have another cheeseburger, a slice of pizza, or an ice cold beer, I could never have stuck with it. But it’s been over a decade and I’ve kept the weight off and never felt better.

Yeah. Every day I see my fam eating something yummy and it’s easy to not eat it because I think, I’ll have some on Sunday. The thing is that I say that about tons of things. But come Sunday, I can only have a few. But that’s enough to make through the next week.

It’s certainly true for me that I'm hyper sensitive to sugar now. My cheat day being Sunday works well for me though, so I don’t have to work feeling a little shaky. After over a decade, it’s no big deal for me now. It’s crazy how insanely sweet something like an apple tastes after cutting out sugar.

But it’s been easy to just see all the things that I want to eat on my cheat day during the week. I’ll say to my self, oh I’m going to have that and that and.. But when Sunday comes, you can only have a few of those things. I‘m satiated and feel so much better just eating clean through the week. I’ve never lost control because I don’t want to mess up my progress. And you realize nothing tases as good as being fit feels.

I thinks it works so well for me is because I‘ve always had elevated blood sugar. I couldn’t believe how quickly the pounds dropped off. Feeling so much better after going no sugar no grain and seeing the change in my body is what has kept me so motivated. Once you see and feel the changes, you don’t want to mess it up.

I read where fasting is quicker to get into ketosis it is not required and some people get headaches etc

I listened to an expert talk on autophagy while fasting on spotify where potential cancer cells get eaten by body

starts after 16 hours then peaks at 48 so it seems ideal for ketosis and not as hard as it sounds

light exercise is recommended but hard exercise will make you very hungry

this is what i read

if you want to start keto with fast then

start with keto breakfast to stop sugar crash

have zero‑calorie electrolyte powder

black coffee reduces hunger

have fibre if required to stop cravings

light walk speeds up ketosis as lowers hunger

hunger comes in 20 minute waves so go for your walk when hungry

cold shower helps stop hunger

herbal tea and black coffee is ok

start keto diet first then after a few days the fast is easier

one 24 hour fast every week will speed up fat loss

I want to lose 15 pounds in one month including water loss this is possible but results vary

using keto sticks to check ketosis is not trustworthy

cycle diet is common but you must eat wisely always no junk food and when off keto reduce fats when on keto fats are allowed as no carbs in pure fat but they make you feel full fat from foods do contain carbs as they are not pure

foods allowed with fats are cheese ,cream ,avocados , nuts as they have few carbs

on keto you can have some carbs a few carbs 100 g or less

this is easy to look up if no nutrition label

Zero carbs = faster ketosis, less variety
Few carbs = slower ketosis, more nutrition

your choice

so it seems to me

zero to few carbs from leafy greens but no fruit with some fasting and light exercise everyday

big spinach salad with tuna , nuts, avocado around 10 carbs is ideal

yes this is a modest challenge but get real

You do not have to have the discipline of a someone in the special forces to do this

my research is very good news

if you break the fast then skip breakfast you will be back into ketosis unless you had pigged out on carbs as you get back into ketosis quicker than if you were not into ketosis before the carbs

a 12 hour fast and you are back into ketosis so if you skip breakfast after sleeping that is 12 hours

here is some excellent news

OHIP pays for medical guidance on keto diet but even better if OHIP pays for it that means they have evidence it works

Dr. Poon’s Metabolic Diet is covered by OHIP at participating clinics.

So you can cheat safely? Many have a hard time stopping, the next day they say fuck it I cheated yesterday I can cheat today.

I bet that if you can hang in there long enough to see and feel results it will get easier and easier.

You might like this guy. He’s a big keto advocate himself but he came up with NSNG. No Sugar No Grain. It‘s totally free. He’s been around forever. I lost 55 bs and kept 50 lbs off for over a decade.

I‘ve started doing his no sugar no grain, ironically, even before I’d even heard of it. I just heard Tim Ferris talking about a diet book. I didn’t read it but I just decided to cut out crappy carbs. Changed my life.

I’ve been doing a modified intermittent fasting for years. One tablespoon of heavy cream in.my coffee. Running off of that fat all day, then eating NSNG from 4:00-8:00p. Cheat day on Sunday. Couldn’t have done it without a cheat day.

Good luck!

Just speaking for myself, yes absolutely. I mean how many nights a week do you need pizza, pasta, rice, potatoes, beer, sugar? Okay don’t answer that.

I feel certain that without a cheat day I could never have done it. There’s no way I could give it up bread, tortillas, pizza and beer completely, forever.

A few things that helped me were:

I felt unbelievably better without the blood sugar spikes.

As the weight started falling off, I didn’t want to ruin all of my hard earned progress with eating poorly again.

Announcing to my fam that I’m going full on-no crappy carbs, saying to them that I was going to be completely strict. No cheating at all except Sunday. They’d even say, come on just try a bite, but I held steadfast. After a while those foods become less and less alluring. Nothing tastes as good as being fit feels.

Like when I told my wife that I wanted a bow flex machine and a subscription to DDP Yoga. She was skeptical. I ended up doing more to prove to her that I would do it, than just doing it for myself. Whatever works.
