Hey guys,

Im in a 12 team keeper league....We can protect 6 players which is due July 31st...

My 6 were..
Peyton Manning
Michael Vick
Chester Taylor
TJ Housh
Anquan Boldin
Braylon Edwards

I do have Grossman and Schaub as other QB's on my roster...Do I protect 1 of those and dump Vick? Will he play this year or is Goodell going to suspend him..Don't want to protect a player who may not play.

Suggestions?

I would not give up on Chester quite yet but I would drop Vick and keep either of your 2 QBs even if Vick is available, which seems unlikely at best.

I don't believe Vick will be suspended until if and when a conviction has been handed down. However, I doubt he'll be effective with all of this hanging over his head. I'd keep Schaub (just as I'm sure Atlanta now wishes they had done).

I'm not so sure Peterson will supplant Chester just yet. He was suffering from an injured collarbone going into the draft and the word at the draft was that he might not be ready to play until mid-season.

I do have the #2 pick in the draft so worst case I can just draft Adrian or Calvin Johnson...

I was reading on CNNSI that Goddell may wait to see what happens in the courts before handing down a suspension...Vick is solid in our scoring format which favors running only reason why I'm inclined to maybe keeping him if he can play in 2007.

I don't know your scoring system, but I'd take Calvin Johnson ahead of Peterson.

Well, I do not agree with that at all.
we'll see in a month and a half, i'd bet he's not in uniform opening day one way or another. he's been a bust so far anyway and the dirty bird's don't need this distraction

I agree he will not be on the roster ( if suspended) , if not suspended then he is on the roster as the # 1 qb no doubt at all.

I dont really see Goodell suspending Vick until the hearings are over, even though many want him to..Not the same scenario as say Pacman Jones who was arrested 10 times...It's Vick's 1st offense and if they did suspend him before the season NFLPA no doubt will file a grievance.

For anyone that beliefs Vick deserves to play in the NFL again..I suggest read this:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19836601/site/newsweek/

A punk is a punk even if you dress him up and give him money.
Is that the message we want to send to our children?..it doesn't matter what you do as long as you are a good quarterback? Character doesn't matter?

Frasier, the message that I want to send my children is that I live in a country (USA) where our concept of law is the greatest in the world. Everyone deserves their right to a trial regardless of what msnbc states.

It is a beautiful concept that we must offer to our enemies as well and while I do agree that Vick is in serious trouble, I would fight hard for him to receive his day in court just as I would stand beside Scouser to expound his views here -even if we seriously disagree.

This is what seperates us with the Arab nations. We offer trials , not stonings or honour killings.

I won't disagree with you on this....in general the Feds don't bring charges like that unless there is a good reason...but you right innocent before proven guilty should always prevail.
I tend to get a little emotional if those are being abused that are defenseless, mainly children, elderly and animals.

I could not agree with you more and I stand side your views yet how we seperate ourself from Saudi Arabia is the key to why our country is great.

I saw this Vick thing on TV last night and it was horrific.

time will tell, nike dropped him last night.... do the falcons need another distraction from dog fighting? is that going to fill seats?

funny the americans are (rightly or wrongly) more outraged over this than over the kobe bryant sexual assault.....

Rev. Al sharpton along with the head of PETA sent a letter to sponsors, the falcons owner and roger goodell asking he be suspended..... if the league doesn't, the team will......

If I made this trade I would then protect
Peyton Manning
Tony Romo
Cadillac
Boldin
TJ Housh
Braylon Edwards

I do have the #2 pick in the draft where I can probably grab Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson or Lynch to help at RB..

Just thinking if Vick does get suspended least I can get something for him

Yeah,

Chester is going to split at best with Adrian.
Vick at best is not a top notch fantasy qb

Williams could be ok this year

Romo is set for a breakout year with a very good team.

Taking Calvin second would be great-huge rookie year for him.

Speaking of which, will someone be offering a fantasy football here this year ?
