I just started using twitter for hobbying. So I have two twitter handles: a personal one and a hobbying one. Both handles are on my smartphone twitter app. So the problem is: how do I keep access to my hobbying account private so that it can't be seen by someone picking up my phone?

I know how to password protect access to the whole app. But is there a better way of doing this?

There's a feature in Android 5.0 Lollipop that lets you setup a Guest mode where you can restrict the apps and functions of your phone. Only problem is that you would have to switch profiles every time a friend wants to use your phone. The simplest way to secure your phone from someone else's prying eyes would be to keep it on you at all times. If you must leave it alone for charging, etc. then make sure the password lock enables as soon as you power off the screen.

Don't twitter on your phone if it can seen by others OR sign out of the app but depends on how you have it set up, it may sign you in automatically... Alternatively, get a cheap tablet and use that... Password protected ofcourse

be careful with having two handles on the same twitter app. There is a chance that you twit to the wrong account. I have seen that done before with business and personal account.

If you have iphone that can be jailbreak. Setup the hobby twitter handle on a separate app like Hootsuite, and use Bioprotect or Applocker to protect the app.

If you have Andriod App Lock will do the same.

Or you can get a private browser app like Ky-Calc and access hobby twitter from the private browser within the Ky-Calc

Thanks Dave. I installed Hootsuite on my android and password protected it with App Lock. Works like a charm.
