Only one thing could have helped those people, Nagin doing his job and getting his people out of New Orleans like the city planned called for. If Nagin were white, the press would have lynched him. Everything else is just bullshit. No matter how much anyone wishes, FEMA isn't a first responder. Bush was an idiot for accepting any blame. He should have called out Nagin and Blanco for being nincompoops.

I would propose that many didn't want to leave. If you are stuck in an evacuation shelter outside of town how would you be able to loot.

By Feds, you're not talking about GWB as he outright lied assured the American public, "we are fully prepared". Chertoff another indirect killer.

- Knowing, National guards are already shorthanded, active servicemen are overseas
- No depolyable DoD assets as all overseas
- Warned breach of levees
- risk lives in N.O Superdome
- overwhelm rescuers

Knowingly let his own people died. How many more have to died until he's out of office. Innocent lives.

City owns 364 school buses. To evacute 100,000 elderly and disables would take 2,000 buses. There were never 2,000 buses as certain new photo claimed.

Why don't we hear more about this investigation, the blame game. Makes you wonder.

Seems to me that the democrats are in power in them thar parts. Why is it always GWB's fault.

You don't hear more because to dig to deep would most likely uncover too much corruption and incompetence at the local and state level.

I actually read their plan, and it called for the school buses to evacuate the people before the hurricane. Do you want me to dig up a link?

WASHINGTON (AP) _ In a March 1 story, The Associated Press reported that federal disaster officials warned President Bush and his homeland security chief before Hurricane Katrina struck that the storm could breach levees in New Orleans, citing confidential video footage of an Aug. 28 briefing among U.S. officials.

The Army Corps of Engineers considers a breach a hole developing in a levee rather than an overrun. The story should have made clear that Bush was warned about floodwaters overrunning the levees, rather than the levees breaking.

The day before the storm hit, Bush was told there were grave concerns that the levees could be overrun. It wasn't until the next morning, as the storm was hitting, that Michael Brown, then head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said Bush had inquired about reports of breaches. Bush did not participate in that briefing.

How the hell would they have been killed if they weren't there?

1. People died in their homes, not superdome.
2. How can you evacuate the entire city with school buses? Use Superdome as shelton for the sick, elderly if can't leave in time and those not willing to leave.

If you read the plan and understand it, guess you also know DRP.
