Just saw something really cool

Just had to share this with everyone. Was just walking my dog at about 7:00 on Sunday evening. I looked up and just saw the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis - not the band). It was so cool - there was a lot of green shimmering light, plus some red, orange and pink. I lived in Northern Ontario for 4 years and never saw it before now. Its times like this that I'm glad I don't live in the city anymore - you just can't see stuff like this down there. Oh well, I just had to tell someone.

Yeh, they're cool. Cold nights are the best (like tonight). They're more briliant the further north you go. I would love to make a trip to Alaska or the Territories and see them in all their briliance.

I considered a trip to Northern Manitoba for the Northern lights and polar bear when I was in Winnipeg but the cost of flight was outrageous.

they showed a few pictures of the beautiful green skies on Breakfast Televsion this morning. It looked amazing, though they did say that a camera just didn't do it justice.

I lived in (very) northern Alberta in 2002-03 and never saw any decent northern lights. All the locals were confused as to why they weren't very active.

Just my luck.

I have to go up to Pointe au baril this weekend to get my boat out of the water. I know it's late! Only hope to see it.
