Just my dumb luck

So i get to work today and tell myself to grow some balls and ask this new girl out to lunch. She's a really nice girls but not beautiful or stunning, just nice. So i ask and she said sure (confidence starts to build). So during the course of the next hour, she mentions her husband (DOH). But i looked at her hand and there was no ring. Start thinking of two possibilities, (a) she really is married or (b) she's just telling me that so i won't ask her out for something else, say like dinner.

Just to let you know, it's not like there are akward silences or anything like that. She's cool and i find it very easy to talk to her and she finds me funny. (Hopefuly not funny looking)

Just a little rant. Much cheaper than a therapist.

Just my dumb luck, thats all.

At least you didn't get further and she isn't leading you on too much.
You never know where events lead, she might have a sister.

She could be separated, but why would she talk about her husband?
You should make further enquiries, there's no harm in that.

I know a number of married people not wearing their ring. They usually come up with "it irritates my finger" BS, but I think deep down they want to look available. I'd say ask her to go to a Drive-In Theatre. Her response should tell you.

Maybe they are having a tough time and she took it off for that reason.

I don't think she would make up being married just to thwart you. If she really is a keeper, don't give up so easily. The could be going through a divorce, you never know.

going out 2 lunch is nothing more than going out to lunch-even for married people. most of the marrieds that i know don't wear rings.

Women just love steamed up windows and groping hands with a twist of buttery popcorn.

Are you guys suggesting that i try to move in on a married woman? Violate the sanctity of marrige? Sorry, that ain't my thing. If she was divorced, then yes but she's still tied to the ball and chain and i respect that.

If that makes me a suck, then so be it.

Drive-in theatres have a nostalgia value for those who are old enough to remember them. I saw Star Wars Episode 4 at drive-in when it first came out.

This website lists all the drive-in theatres that it knows about.

http://www.drive-ins.com/

It is interesting to see the drive-ins, especially the ones that are closed. An huge white screen in the middle of thick woods that's grown over what used to be the theatre.

I think a closed drive-in theatre is an ideal spot for your first date.
No pesky kids looking in your window or distractions on the screen.
