I agree. I was in Colombia twice in the August to November timeframe. Other than wearing a mask, life was normal there. What the Canadian and Ontario governments are doing is bordering on ridiculous. They've failed over and over again, yet come up with nothing new. The people I really feel sorry for are the underfunded and underequipped healthcare workers, the people being robbed of their ability to earn a living, yet still somehow paying taxes and utility bills (remember that in this idiotic province you still pay a delivery fee and taxes even if you do not consume hydro) and the people in nursing homes.

How many people is this province destroying with their unsuccessful measures. Just to cut off the trolls, I am triple vaccinated, wear my 3-layer mask and do not live my life in fear. I've had 2 negative PCR tests as required to reenter Canada and have not been tested otherwise, nor been to a doctor, hospital or clinic. I am responsible for my personal health, not the government of Ontario.

Perhaps if our healthcare infrastructure was not so inefficient and also underfunded, we would not be put in lockdowns over and over again.

Warm/hot weather countries are supposedly safer because people spend more time outdoors.

Not sure what is happening in India as that is a warm/hot weather country.

I'm not so much against the rules and regulations .. Its the constant reminder,, the news, the papers,, everywhere, everyday.. it causes stress,, It exists in the Dominican, just nobody talked about it...
Yes, this too. I am seriously considering not listening to the radio anymore and switching full time to Spotify or Amazon radio, which I already have. I'd hate to stop supporting my local independent radio station and I'd miss the afternoon radio personality, but I am sick and tired of the exact same commercials over and over again, paid for by the Government Taxpayers of Ontario.

I really wish there were Apps that muted the TV and radio during commercials. Is one of the reasons I cut the cable cord, but you still get commercials when streaming sports.

Well of course.
Their rates are really low after that 500-some day curfew/state of emergency they imposed.
They might have to go back if omicron breaks through, but they went hardcore with the social control for over a year.

I don't think Colombia did, but then Colombia had three times the death rate of Canada.

They are both doing much better than Canada right now, but the Omicron spike doesn't seem to have hit them yet or is just starting to, so they may catch up.

Getting tired of this shit. Time to move on in life. Its been 2 years of shit show. Precautions were fine in the beginning since we knew nothing about this shit. 90% of the population is vaccinated. Move the fuck on. Govts of Europe, Canada and Aus/NZ are real pussies. I was in Asia for a month last summer and never wore a mask and attended large gatherings indoor and outdoors. Nothing happened. Life was normal. The day I got back, its been covid, covid, covid, and more covid in media. All these doctors on TV have started to piss me off. Shut the fuck up.

What was the procedure of Covid test at Pearson airport (assuming you landed in Toronto). I'm planning a trip soon but not sure if its worth the hassle of coming back.

Not to the DR but somewhere relatively hot and definetly an island . It will be nice to get away from all the stress.

You go through customs just like normal but then they file you through a line where they have about 10 booths set up and they do the nose swab, and your n your way,, added maybe 10 or 15 minutes to the process,, wasn't bad really. Then got an email next day with my results,, I was also tested the day before I left the Dominican, if positive you don't get on the plane and are isolated for I think 7-10 days,, That can be the killer,, you need to pay to stay and need to book a new flight, can add a lot to the bill,, But I tested negative and the whole process was really not a hassle and I would do it again, In fact I have booked a trip first week of March...
