Imagine if on Monday the Liberal party of Quebec wins the election, and PKP is elected in his riding of St. Jerome. This would be hell on earth for a billionaire to be acting as a lowly MNA far away from the bright lights of Montreal. Far away from the 357 Club. The 1.5 hour commute to and from Montreal will cut into his quality time in Montreal each day. PKP may have to, out of necessity dine at the La Poutinerie in St. Jerome.

PKP threw this one overboard just a few weeks ago.

If the PQ fail to win, I can't see Peladeau sticking it out as an MNA.

He'll quit (assuming he wins) within weeks to go back to daddy's company.

At one time, I might have thought that he would stick around in opposition because he had figured that Marois will be ousted if she loses (and she will be, discarded like a used tampon) and he will be rightful heir to the PQ crown of thorns. However, from what I've seen of him, and from what I've read, the guy is not the kind of guy you want as leader of the party. Never mind that he has 0 political experience at any level. A guy with shiny boardroom shoes like PKP will not appeal to the PQ's base - rural hicks and Quebec City intellectuals (both of whom will despise him for different reasons). As Bob Rae so aptly put it, "PKP was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple".

The base will support anyone leading the cause.
The ones who will be scared off will be the masses who vote PQ despite their reason for being, past leaders were smart enough to sugarcoat the party for them.

WaitforIt is correct, about three hours by automobile a bit longer by VIA if he goes to Levis and has rides to and from the Ferry.

The Quebec National Assembly building does have a very nice restaurant.
