Harris, like Harper was a failure as a leader. He—either one—failed because he divided the population, and the portion that actually admired and agreed with his mean-spirited, ideologically dictated policies was never more than a minority. What passed for electoral success for both was due to lack of effective alternatives, not to their popularity.
And we needn't discuss the botch either one made of actually governing.
What the country and the province need is leadership that resonates with the majority, and that's neither liberal left nor rigid right, but firmly in the middle where most of us are.
The only time Harris was centrist, was on his better golf outings.
