I had always thought that Rice could be the guy who would be productive into his mid 40's. He seemed to have the intelligence to recognize that as his skills diminish, he had to make the shift from game breaker to possession receiver.

Alas, I guess the steriods in the water around the Bay area has taken over his brain. He still seems to think that he is the same man that he was 15 years ago.

I still think that Rice has something to offer a team like Denver. But his numbers over the past few years just does support that conjecture.

Unfortunately, it may take a concussion or serious injury to get him to retire. Too bad....

You hold just about every WR record (by a mile) out there plus a few rings. What else is there to chase?

Sit back and enjoy life and family. If you still love to be around the game then get a job comentating. It's not even about him getting hurt anymore, it's about him leaving when he's still productive and not riding the bench. No superstar should go out like that...
