I read on another board that this club has reopened and is now an SC during the week and a regular club on weekends. Has anyone visited the new SC during the week. Is it the same as before, or have there been changes in the quantity or quality of the girls. Any new girls?

Part-time SC
Wasn't Barrymore's a Part-time SC before their renovations a few years back ? Afternoons it was an SC and evenings they did their regular concert venues ? It was only for a short time after the club Fanny's next door closed or maybe it was before it opened. Pandora's Box was in the same group of buildings there years and years ago, late 80's ?
Josh, the SC on Somerset that burned down long ago was Club 844. I remember it was at 844 Someset, 1/2 way up the hill on the south side !

This must have been the part-time SC. At the time, I always wondered why there were two names to that club. Now it all makes sense.
A poster on MERB claimed Valentinos was formerly a real tough place called Spot 888. But hey, why quibble over a couple digits.

I believe it was called Spot 864. It was a dive & so was the Vendome but there was something appealing about them. Valentino's was a nice club. I remember getting polaroids with Keisha (The porn star) back in the late 80's.jost said:

Back in the late 80s/early 90s it was common to see big name pornstars perform at Ottawa SCs. I remember seeing Christy Canyon at Fannys on Bank St. She's one of my alltime favourite pornstars because of her huge naturals. It was amazing to see her live. Also saw Alexandria Quinn at Valentinos - I didn't much care for her. Face was kind of ugly. And I also saw Angela Baron at the BareFax. circa 1989 when it was still a dive located where the current Dominion Tavern is. And oh yeah, I remember Tiffany Towers dancing at Pigales and Fannys on Bank as a regular housegirl before she got hugely famous as a tit model in the mags. That SC on the corner of Bank above the Tavern was called Barbarellas, at least for a while in the early 90s.
Why Jasons is staying a part time strip club
This is pretty much true. The City of Ottawa won't issue any new strip club licenses in any mixed use area, possibly nowhere. (Possibly they will issue licenses for industrial parks.) Business is down at Jason's, and it has to diversify to stay open.... So in order to keep the license, their has to be some erotic dancing going on.trigger25 said:

The City won't issue ANY new SC permits. The only permits allowed are for existing locations. All SC's near residental areas had to close or move....The Den, Fanny's. Some just closed....Cheeks. There's another for everyone, remember Cheeks on Bank St. just over the bridge near Sunnyside!
I remember Cheeks....it was the first one I ever went to. I was 17 and I went with an older cousin of mine. If I remember correctly...there wasn't a good looking dancer among them. THere was this horribly skinny girl. I remember her JO a towel. Was that supposed to turn me on? She was terrible....

Guys, I checked the Polar Bare out last night (Wed). What a monumental WASTE OF TIME. The place is only half as big as it was before - the other half must be the new dance club? who knows. Anyways, the stage now is in a corner. There were what looked to be about 4 or 5 girls working and about as many customers to boot. No stage action happening for at least a good 10 minutes while I was there. I recognized most of the girls as former Jasons dancers, including that Romanian chick with huge naturals. Place was completely dead. Only good thing about the new place was there's no longer a cover to get in. They'd have to have some nerve to charge one for a place as dead as this, and you'd have to be crazy to pay it. Maybe the place picks up on Thursday nights - if anyone goes, post and let us know. Friday and Saturday nights are the regular club nights, apparently. Some skinny blonde chick finally took to the stage, but wasn't my type so I took off after a grand total of 15 boring minutes.
