I think BigBlack is right. It's likely that her age is correct and her appearance is due to excessive tanning.
I remember this girl in university that was 21 or 22 but she tanned all summer and used tanning booths in the winter. As a result her skin was wrinkled and leathery and she looked like she was in her mid-30's.
