-- Ludicrous amounts of money being spent on the G20, much of it pork

-- No respect whatsoever for the Parliamentary process

-- No accountability at all

-- To transparency whatsoever

-- A sense of entitlement that puts despotic dictators to shame

The Conservatives have lost their bearings, they have no resemblance whatsoever to the party that originally took power. They're spending money like it's water and they don't care what anybody thinks about it, they appear to have lost faith in democracy, and they don't like the idea of having to reveal what it is they're up to.

Time to change the guard.

Past Liberal Prime Ministers of course have never done the same.
All politicians begin to act this way when they have been too long in power.

Harper has quite simply been in power too long, he's become addicted to it, egotistical, developed a sense of entitlement, a hatred of accountability, a dislike of transparency, a loathing of Parliamentary process, and most recently has taken to spending taxpayer money like water.

It's time to change the guard.

I'd love to get rid of Harper and his thugs. But the alternative is soooooo weak I wouldn't know who to vote for.

I would like to get rid of the whole lot of them and have everything voted on by the people rather than a party who is supposed to be for them.

Heck I think Harper is such a dickhead I was willing to vote for Dion... in fact my "anyone but Harpo" policy remains intact. I'm still gonna vote for Iggy. I am not going to say he has been a disappointment, because I never expected much to start with.

Yeh right, and return to the same old, same old Grit misrule.
I don't think so. The Grits in their first years back in power would not have the same sense of entitlement that they had towards the end, and that Harper has now. They'd be much more tentative, much more attentive, the way the Harper government was when it first began, I think.

It's important now and then for the electorate to yank on the chains of government.

Besides being a faithless liar and incompetent, he's repeatedly failed at the one thing any politician's supposed to be good at: getting votes. After almost a full term of five years he's accomplished next to nothing (unless you count production of rancour and discord) and his poll numbers consistantly hover right where they were when he started. In spite of all the advantages of incumbency. his only real appeal is to that hard right rump he started with.

If he wasn't up against a College of Liberal Losers he'd have been long gone already.

I'd like to see someone in power who can actually make democracy work again, and restore our faith in it.

You want Cretien eh? 'More proof of the proof'.

... in fact my "anyone but Harpo" policy remains intact. I'm still gonna vote for Iggy. ...
I suppose you would have voted for Ed The Sock too? Iggy is an ass in a pig's disguise. Harper is the only logical choice at this juncture.

Harper has done an admirable job as PM considering the constant undermining of the parliamentary process by the opposition parties. He's far from perfect but he has shown good leadership skills over the course of the economic crisis. When he talks on the intl stage the other leaders listen. Despite being a lone voice he was able to have the intl community drop the proposal of a global bank tax. Chretien or Martin were never able to get other countries to listen to Canada like Harper has done. Not since Mulroney have we seen a strong statesman as our PM.
