Sorry I haven't been able to put my .02 cents worth for the NFL playoffs but, I've been concentrating on NCAA basketball. I hate to say this...but I follow the money.lol.

I've been tapping on some of the college ball games and I was wondering if there were any early favorites for any Terbites out there.

The brackets are starting to form and sooner than later the Madness will begin - and, for the uninitiated; there's more money to be made here than a whole season of NFL betting...and IMHO, easier money.

Mr polarbear I know you're paying attention.

I am paying attention . It looks like you will probably see quit a few different teams in the tournement this year that hevent been there in awhile and some mainstays that have been but wont make it this time around. I'm looking for the Illini to end up a number 2 or 3 seed. One thing you are right about there is a whole lot of money to be made in a months time. GO ILLINI:D

Alright,

First off -bobisthowl is Da Man! The kenpom site is excellent -I started using it last week and it certainly helped me out. It kept me form making, what would have been; a couple of devastating bets.

This site will come in handy -the only things it doesn't really account for is -players' academic ineligibility, suspensions, injuries and come March, bracket trends.

I know it's Superbowl Sunday but I'm already pre-planning for Tuesday's NCAA basketball games. With about 10 games to go -I want to track my winning percentage using this site as one of many guides...hmmm....
For Tuesday Feb 7th, on the money line; I like - Villanova, Duke, Maryland, Houston, Creighton and Tennesse -let's see how these guesses work out.

Thanks, healer677, I heard about the kenpom site in the Sporting News college basketball yearbook.

Tennessee this year is coached by Bruce Pearl, who last year made it to the sixteen from a 12 seed, (wins over Alabama and Boston College; loss to Illinois). The Vols look like they're headed for a high seed, and their first tournement bid since '01.

Karl Hobbs, head coach of George Washington, is formerly the top assistant coach of Jim Calhoun at Connecticut.

Before the season started, I picked Memphis as a team to watch. They haven't disappointed so far, but I am concerned about their depth. Compare their bench points to their total points per game, and you'll see a ratio that doesn't bode well for advancement beyond the 16.

BOB! I know it's early but using the pomeroy stats, and ESPNs info -I managed a 6 for 6 yesterday. Now, let's try Saturday's games.

Who do you guys like?

So far for my money line sure shots (well, hell -as sure as you can get I guess) are - Temple, George Washington, Xavier, Duke, NC State, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Pacific, Wichita State, George Mason and Tennessee.

My maybes are Albany, Belmont, Michigan, Colorado, Winthrop, UAB, Butler, Iona, Bradley, Air Force, Northern Iowa, Arizona, Gonzaga and Western Kentucky.

That's 27 guesses -let's see if I'm feeling lucky come Saturday.

Some teams that I like for Saturday: Arkansas, BYU, USC, Bucknell, Wichita St, UCLA, Texas A&M, Winthrop, Georgia Southern, Boise State, Furman, Arizona.

I wouldn't give a lot of points with Duke this weekend.

Check out the home/road splits for Iowa and Indiana. The game's in Bloomington.

Creighton - Southern Illinois will be a good game to watch for tournement time. If one of those teams wins by 5+ points, I predict that team will win at least one game in the tournement, regardless of who they play.

I think Florida's ripe for a home loss. LSU might be the team to do that. I don't think the Gators have an answer for baby Shaq. On the other hand, Florida leads the NCAA in victory margin, so I would watch the score on that one, but not place a wager - too many intangibles.

I won't be betting on any of those games myself, but if you make some money on my predictions, more power to you.

I added Memphis, Villanova and Boston College late...but...

The two Michigans screwed me and Xavier embarassed themselves at home. I didn't feel all that bad about Northern Iowa because they were too close in stats with Missouri State.

All in all, I played 3 and 4 team parlays on the money line and played a few 7 and 8 team bets; and did very well. I guess the key is not to get greedy and bet 9 or 10 team parlays. Slow and steady will win it.
