Italian Match fixing results on Monday?

David Beckham 23

I'll bend it like........
It said that the decision of the punishment for the Italian match fixing scandal will come down Monday after the world cup. Teams involved, at the top of the list of course is Juventus who has already lost their coach Capello to Real Madrid. Juventus has accepted a Seria B demotion, however the prosecutor would like a demotion to the third division (which would crush the team) and have them stripped of their last two titles. Other teams that may get demoted are AC Milan, Fiorentina & Lazio.

Juventus players are already looking for new teams. There's a rumour that the "bull dog" Italian Gattusso is looking to join Man Utd. And this is what Man U needs. A hard ass midfielder. I say sign him, teach him some key english words, and make him Captian!!

I haven't been keeping up with thisat all. Just heard it commented on that no players are involved in the investigation, just team officials.

Can somebody briefly explain to me how matches can be fixed without any players being involved?

Were the trainers just going to slip them a tranquilizer dart when they go to the sidelines for treatment?

yes, that league is fucked!

I am a Lazio supporter, and who the hell fixes matches to make the UEFA Cup?

If any of these teams get demoted, fire sale of the century!

This thing is going on with teams all over europe..the only difference is Italian Justice will not give anyone immunity because of who you are, status and so on..they will even lock up the Italian President if they have you..Italy is not Canada, where criminals go free because your the Prime Minister or a relative of the Prime Minister, or a friend of The Prime Minister, or his next door neighbour...just look at the recent scandles with the Liberal party.

any proof that this is going on all over Europe?

Uhm, your not going to compare the Italian Legal system to ours are you? As a citizen of both great nations, I can tell you with personal exprience, that the only reason high profile people go to jail, is because the guy who ratted him out is waiting in the wings to take over. Now that's what I call succession planning.

This is in a country that is comfortable with the fact that organized crime has moved into the white collar world because the provide great cell phone service.

Don't get me wrong, I love both countrys equally. Enough to realize you never compare the two.

Oh brother. Now I've heard it all. Italy held up as a model of tough minded jurisprudence.

Anyway, word is that Juve has suggested that part of their fair punishment be a demotion to series B. That means they're going at least that far down, maybe further.

Does everyone realize what this means?

If AC suffers a similar fate, Inter may have a bonafide outside chance at the Scudetto.

Hey wasn't there a similar thing in 1982. Paolo Rossi had just come off a 2-year suspension when that World Cup was starting - was that for the same thing?

Maybe in the Bizarro world.

I believe prosecutors are asking for Serie C. Which would be hilarious.

Not to mention my beloved Roma.

the prosecuters are asking for Serie C for Juventus and the others would be demoted to B, which would mean that it would take something like 3 years for Juve to come back to top flight football, that would be freaking hilarious and the list of stars looking to jump the sinking ship would be a long one. On the flip side I wonder how many would be pull a Di Livio a la Fiorentina when they were demoted, he was the only top level player to stay with the team and earned himself a status of next to God with the fans.

Gattuso will not be going to Man Utd. He has stated he will stay with Milan until his services are no longer needed. Juventus is going to be the team hardest hit, while Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina will get harsh penalties but so far the reports suggest they may only get deducted points. There are a ton of players from Juve already looking for new clubs. Zambrotta has been in contact with Barcelona, Ibrahimovic with Real Madrid, Vieira with Arsenal and Man Utd, Emerson with Real Madrid

Well if all the top players start to jump ship, it may take even longer for the teams to rebound back into Serie A

Forsa Roma. :p

Even better would be a ruling that the teams involved are not allowed to transfer/sell players for a full season. Unlikely, though.

Well that way they players are being punished for thier leaders actions, and I don't think that would be fair. If they were involved then I would agree with you.
