However, saltwater and fresh water will stratify in estuary environments where there is enough of each due to the difference in specific density likewise in situations were there is highly saline water and brackish water such as the Turkish Straits (The Bosphorus and the Dardanelles) where the surface current is out of the Black Sea and the submarine flow is from the Aegean Sea to the Black Sea.
