Is Norm Rumack still on the FAN590?

I have noticed this week that the overnight show on the Fan features CBS Sports Radio instead of Norm Rumack. Does anyone know why the change? Is Norm gone from the Fan again? Also, the CBS guy who seems to be on after midnight is a tough listen. He has a very gravely voice and his approach to sports seems juvenile to me. He should be doing TV commercials in Buffalo for used mattresses.

The problem with this CBS content on the Fan is that it has no Canadian content, and also pales in comparison to the ESPN radio equivalent.

Agree with you on the CBS guys voice. Are you talking about the guy who was on late last night? I think its a different guy Monday to Thursday though. The guy on Mon to Thursday was good. But the guy on last night had an annoying voice. Not sure what happened to Rumack.

Yes the guy last night. Hard to figure out from Norm's blog what the story is.

Christ I thought his show was pretty good and enjoyed listening to it.

I have been going to bed early lately so wasn't aware of the change but remember when they tried picking an American feed before.

And although it had it's moments I would rather have the local flavour that Norm brings to the show.

I can't listen to the guy.
It's almost like wearing pyjamas with maple leafs on them and having bedsheets with maple leaf players on them.

I listen to TSN a lot more now for hockey stuff. They are a lot more objective about issues re: the Leafs and players.

I was listening to this new CBS late night show replacing Rumack. It was the first night of the hockey season, the Leafs had just beaten the Habs, and at midnightish, this new show, brought to us courtesy of the Fan590 has virtually nothing to say about hockey, except to ridicule it as a non mainstream Canadian only. Well done Fan590. Clowns.

Rumack has been on since 1993 and is done.

590 management has completely dropped the ball...
If they cannot find a Canadian replacement >> Rumack...
Canada is a hotbed for show biz talent.

There are probably 10 hockey bloggers with podcasts out there...
That are better than anything Rumack can do.

I just listen to ESPN on 550 (100% hockey free).

Rumack is a clown..I remember how he would stick up for Jack Morris of the Jays years back, and when he finally did meet Morris, Rumack introduced himself as the guy who was sticking up for him. Morris told him "that's your problem buddy".

Rumack was a joke, he knew nothing about MMA or any other sport for that matter. He couldn't even say his own name right, Staminama Rumack??? We do need a Canadian on there at night, those Espn/Cbs feeds are useless to us. Espn Allnight with Jason Smith was so annoying. I would rather listen to the conspiracy/alien bullshit on am640 than that guy.

I was listening to the guy on CBS last night, a little after midnight. Apart from being a poor sports journalist, his voice is SO annoying. He sounds like Ed the sock for crying out loud.

I agree, Jason started out OK for a year or two...
But then tried to turn it into a "variety show"...
With a lot of personal stuff, 80s music, etc...
The low point was when he had his zero-talent girl "producer" do stupid bits...
Then poor Jason got fired straight to oblivion.

The last intelligent talk show left is Jim Bohanin Show on 930 (22:00 to 01:00)...

ACtually Jason didnt get fired - he just moved onto NFL Network.

Rumak was a joke, glad to see he is gone. He always touted himself as a big Syracuse grad, apparently he went there for his one and only final year and graduated from there - he never did share that bit of info on the air - just said he was a Syracuse grad - as if it made him a bigger person. Now Howard Berger, Mike Hogan on the other hand were class acts - i know Hogie is on TSN radio, not sure where the Ham Berger is - i do miss him and his leaf insights.

I do not think Berger is doing anything(for pay / job in the sports world.), but he has a website where he posts his write ups.
