I have an ipod touch, and I'd like to help, but I'm not sure what you want to do. Are you talking about installing a memory card into the device, or do you want some program that will allow you to save files (other than music & photos) onto the touch?

Is there any reason you guys chose the Touch over iPhone?
Probably because the Itouch is an MP3 player and the phone is, well, partly, a phone and wasn't available until recently......

Thanks!

Thanks for the info everyone!
I chose the ipod touch cause of the wifi and of course mp3, also wanted to transfer video movies on it but have to get software to convert it.
I also ready have a cellphone/smartphone. There was no need to get the iphone, as least for me. I have a htc with wifi. The ipod touch seems to get better signal. Ipod touch you can open up another page to another website. So far I like the Safari system browser.
Another reason is a backup, whether its battery life or signal or travelling, etc, etc.
The ipod touch I sometimes use as a wifi signal detector, like those useless keychain versions that just shows you have a signal only. With the ipod touch it will show you details just like my htc.
Both htc and ipod touch battery life drains, at least to my experience, with using wifi.
There's more to explain but don't want to write it all, I hope everyone gets the picture.

There is no flash support for the iphone or ipod at this point. And frankly with the iphone there are too many things that need to get fixed before the flash problem. Cut and paste and being able to send a simple email attachment would be a priority i would hope for them.

The iphone crashes like no tomorrow. And it is pretty useless if you need it to act as a pda. That combined with the fact that it is a data hog it makes the choice easier if you need an ipod.

I don't think I have seen so much BS in one post in a few days... Let's get a few things straight:

iPhone is a very stable device if you don't load it up with lots of third party junk and/or apps intended for jailbroken devices.

iPhone does indeed act as an excellent PDA with a full suit of programs loaded on the default OS. I'm not sure what more you want a PDA to do that the iPhone is not doing already.

Also, the fact that the iPhone is a data hug is purely subjective. Obviously iPhone being a sort of a SmartPhone is not for everyone but I don't really find it using anymore data than say my BlackBerry.

Yes, indeed for most people an iPod would be the way to go but you can't just dismiss the iPhone and what it provides with a few blogna statements.

Took the plunge and bought it! Already have a cell plan and don't want the hassle of reconfiguring with Rogers at the moment. An all-in-one will be a little bit down the line. I can't seem to get it to work with the wifi I just setup at home--I was aware there were some sort of wifi issues with connecting it to WEP/WPA protected wifi but the reality of it hasn't hit me until now--I can only get wifi access on my ipod touch if my wifi is unprotected. I'm no techie so I may be doing something wrong.

I've been successful in connecting the iPhone (same radio/software as the iPod touch) it to WEP/WPA/WPA2 networks wherever I've tried.

Check to see if you have the latest software on your touch through iTunes.

Absolute horseshlt, The iphones os crashes when not jailbroken as well. Safari crashes just as much as any browser on any phone does right now. Dont believe? Go to hofo or some other forum and read around. You think they keep trying to put out new firmware for their own good? No. Its to shut the masses up that are complaining about this lame os.

Again I will call bullshlt here. A primary function of a pda/smartphone is to handle EMAIL. And the iphone has one of the worst if not worst email programs out there. There is no sending attachments(unless its a picture and you must be in ther camera roll to send it) real convienient. You cant start an email to someone and then attach something(not even a picture)....thats lamer then shlt. And with that the iphone is useless to business users. With email like that it is only usefull to the kids that need to send a picture to asomeone real bad. There isnt a simple cut and paste option. Again, no business user would even touch this thing with that glaring omission. The list goes on too. Want to keep playing?

Ok. Now here your ignorance is really showing. If you used a blackberry server EVER you would know that the BB servers C-O-M-P-R-E-S-S everything that comes or goes. (but someone who calls BS would at least know something about that before calling BS on any post) Or are you just a drip that flaps their gums? And no it isnt "subjective" that the iphone uses lots of data. IT DOES USE LOTS OF DATA.

What kind of statements? Mine come from knowing a little something about what I am posting. What are you flapping your gums about again.?
