Does anybody has recommendations or info on FM transmitters for iPod Nano to allow to use them in conjunction with the car radio?
I have heard that they are noisy.

they are craptastic. I've tried the ones made by Belkin, Griffin, and they are no better than those no-name asstastic variety that can easily found on eBay.

The Griffin product is so so. If you can hook via a jack, that is so much better.

The Macally FM Cup is actually pretty good. Keeps the iPod from rolling around and changing the station is much easier than the Griffin offering.

Charges the iPod, and it has a mini-jack cable so you can plug something other than an iPod in.

But Toronto is very crowded when it comes to radio. I can't drive to Ottawa, Huntsville or London without having to change frequecy. Sometimes I have to change between Ajax and Mississauga.

But it beats having a tonne of CD's in the car.

I have a Belkin which cost me about $39 last year. While it works okay in some cases, I do not think it has enough transmitting power to combat the signals of Toronto radio. I have a Sirius radio in my car too and it is set to broadcast at 89.3. It is powerful enough to be heard over the Toronto radio chatter with no problems. The Belkin iPod tranmitter at the same freq is barely listenable. If I was to do it again, I would look for a transmitter with the highest output wattage.

I was on the fence about which transmitter to use for a while....then I got a Belkin TuneFM and it works great for me...but be careful...the Nano version is for 1st gen Nanos...I've got a 2nd gen and the spacing of the connectors are different.

Get the TuneFM for Ipod...it fits any dock-connecting Ipod including the 2nd gen Nano...plus you can use it with just the transmitter or use the pass-through cable for car-charging...also helps boosts the signal when you use the cable.
