one of many links for the news of the upcoming new phone and ipad that won't do anything new except be fixed versions of the fucked up phones and pads they just released. seems like a good business plan, release a piece of shit that everyone hates, then 6 months later release the fixed version of the exact same product. then change the size and name and release it again.

looks like apple got out of the innovation business and got into the beating a dead horse business.

You're getting a boner over some rumors? It's clear that you didn't bother reading the article before spewing your garbage.

First, not everyone hates the new products. Not when tens of millions of them have been selling. Do you see tens of millions of returns? No.
Second, exact same version? Did you miss the part where it says that the iPhone 5S may have a new processor?

so they released a broken piece of crap full of glitchs and the fixed it and released it again. not the first place i have heard this and i hear it more and more. same product that was released 5 years ago or whenever the first iphone came out. just a new name.

I'm with Simon on this one. When Apple first started out, they were innovators. Nowadays, they're just playing catch up with the likes of Google, Samsung, HTC, and even Windows phones.

But I think my all time favourite "revolutionary feature" from Apple would be when they annouced copy and paste in iOS 3.0. It still cracks me up to this day.

That is why I got an iPod Touch only and very hard for me to pull the trigger on other Apple products. Wanted the iPad Mini and tried various times to purchase one but they were unsuccessful because they were out of stock at the Apple store I normally visit. Not fond of that screen because I wanted a Retina display. Plus I really hate iTunes and no microSD expansion. Would want one because it would serve as a great e-book reader, taking some online classes and some baccarat software are only made for the iPad. Now I would wait until the Retina screen comes out then I would rethink of getting one but now I am not going to spend the money.

Looked at Android tablets especially Nexus 7 and found I liked better than Apple but Android has its own issues I am not fond of at all. That is security and a crappy ecosystem. Plus found the system to be poorly engineered and not as smooth as iOS which I find to be impressive in that aspect. Another gripe is no microSD expansion for Nexus 7. What a let down that is.

Oh well going to wait when these tech yahoos wake up and do what they are supposed to do instead of trying to milk people for the sole purpose to make more money.

Regarding the no expansion slot dilemma for both the iPad and other Android tablets, it's not too big of a deal. 16GB can store quite a bit of movies/music as long as you are not downloading 5GB HD files.

On the Android side, you can purchase a MTG cable (Microusb-to-go) and plug a USB key and use that as extra storage. Provided that your device is rooted. I'm not aware of a similiar type of cable for the iPad, so that alone is a big plus for Android in my books.

As for security, both iOS and Android have that covered pretty well. I do agree that the Android OS is highly fragmented due to the vast amount of manufacturers jumping on the bandwagon. Had Google provided a more concrete specification to the manufacturers, the issue wouldn't be so wild spread.

I just upgraded to the iphone 5, I have no regrets whatsoever. It's a great phone. I can even block all calls when I am busy. Or block all calls except those from my favorites.
When "Do not Disturb" is enabled the incoming calls or texts are displayed but the phone does not vibrate.

Is that something new with Apple? You could do that with Android based phones over 2 years ago.

Pretty hilarious it took Google nine releases of Android to make smooth scrolling a feature.

Something to keep in mind if you are buying old technology.

As witnessed by Apple's map failure (a far worse case of    because it is currently on thier top model) - if you are buying for the best current technology, Android has surpassed Apple.

So every computer released since the first PC was simple releasing the same machine over again because it does the same thing?

Hey, at least they had to innovate unlike Samsung which spent months copying from Apple before they came up with a workable Galaxy S II. You ask "workable"? Yes, because the Galaxy S I is a POS. And, yes, unlike some people here, I have one.

You sound a bit helpless. It's been a month since the thing came out and you could have ordered it online and received it by now.

Funny you mention that.

I was in the States recently using my Galaxy Nexus on my T-Mobile line.

Put in my destination into Google Maps and the bloody thing kept screwing up the route. Ended up using an alternative to get to my destination.

Yikes!

I have to say that the iOS 6 maps app has worked really well for me, I like the Yelp integration, turn/turn navigation is awesome and the 3d maps are very cool.... This is like the antenna gate issue... An issue for haters....

i don't have a samsung and don't get that blitz either but apple fan bois are way easier to rile up. as for apple having it first how manylawsuits are going right now for apple stealing from samsung ? and apple finally having technology that droid had 4-5 years ago. you go on and keep sticking up for them and they will keep sticking it to you and taking every penny you got cuz you need the same product over and over.

Blah. I ordered it online to have it pick up the next day at my local Apple store. It was available when I did it online but when I went to the store for pick up, not available. WHAT????

Oh well. Must be a sign for me to wait. Might as well wait for next year until they improve on the thing. Plus Apple switched to Sharp and relying less on Samsung. Now if the next versions of iPad uses the IGZO display, that would be really sweet.

So guess like I am going to be patient then.
