Apple created an API to allow developers to use their own device ID and not rely on the Apple generated ID. You wrongly inferred that Apple was taking something away from developers for it's own advantage. As a general rule, if you don't know what you're talking about it's best to do less talking.

Again, I went by DJ's post here about the UDID.
As for what you said in the bold above, here's a quote from DJ's link to the article which he posted...
"If Apple does continue to use UDID for itself but denies it to developers that would be an “extremely lopsided change.
It would give Game Center (Apple's baby) and iAds (Apple) yet one more advantage over competing third-party services. ” (for its own advantage)
So again, I do not frequent MacRumors like you would on a daily basis to keep up with the confessional, daily prayers and what not with the Apple faithful.
Now, my ORIGINAL post to DJK still stands, Apple more likely than not will intend to keep using the UDID for their own purposes and gain (as one mobile industry CEO is assuming).
Hence the little poke at DJ' who seems to be so passionately in love with the iPhone again and Siri, "Siri, please tell Apple to phase out access to UDID for whatever purposes they intend to use it for, thank you."
Maybe you should get the new iPhone and use Siri to teach you reading comprehension, clearly not a strong suit for you.
