Fascinating documentary. It’s a rare glimpse behind the curtain to actually see what’s going on. Nothing very surprising. The leaders are obsessed with pomp and pageantry and military buildup while the people are starving.
They externalize all their problems like every communist dictator. Keep the people living in constant fear and demonize external enemies. Make them think that the enemy is poised to take control. Our fearless leader is the only thing that stands in their way. Just look at what Hugo is doing in Venezuela.
Their fierce devotion might look sincere, but it’s paper thin and motivated by fear. The Russians were all in lock step behind Lenin and Stalin when they were alive. To do otherwise was a death wish. They cried when they died too. But when communism fell, they couldn’t smash their statues fast enough.
The same thing will happen to N Korea. It’s an economic basket case and it will collapse very soon. I’m saddened by the entire generation of N Koreans that are either dead or dying as a result of the failed political experiment called communism.
Once again, I really have to roll my eyes at what Lenin called “useful idiots” that want to bring that kind of system here when the fact is that everywhere it was tried, the results were the same.
