In order to win this Mayoral Election what are your

1) Tax (municipal) Platform.............I will keep Property Tax increase to inflation rate. Save Land Transfer Tax plus Special Transit Levy to build up the Infrastructure Funds.

2) Social Welfare Platform..............I will hold the total social spending increase to inflation rate. It may not be enough to fix the social housing and school nutrition program but priority has to be given to transit improvements.

3) Transit Platform...............I will go ahead and finish Scarborough Subway because the fundings from three levels of Governments are already in place. For short term solution, I will consult with TTC and Karen Stintz to find improvement on rush hour bus service. For longer term solution I will press for DRL fundings from the 2 senior governments plus the local Infrastructure Funds (if the local infrastructure funds isn't enough then construct one DRL station at a time). For long term solution I will leave the decision(s) to the transit experts at Metrolinx.

4) Security and Policing Platform..............I will investigate for higher efficiency including contract-out on the clerical and other security-guard functions.

5) Union and staffing Platform...............I will contract out the garbage collection on the east side of Yonge Street. The union(s) is welcome to bid for the contract(s).

6) Economic Platform............I will investigate to cut red tapes on all tourism activities, including casino at Woodbine Race Track, in order to improve business environments for hospitality industries which in turn enable them to hire more youths and other less fortunate members of our City. In the event of one or more casinos open in Toronto, a special casino levy will be added to our city's Infrastructure Funds.

Those are my platforms and I will not criticize the platforms of the other candidates during any public debates (I will keep reminding the general public my only platforms so that the voters can make an educated decision on the Election Day).

What are your platforms?

Little late in the game to be creating a platform. He is obviously running on his name only really.

He hasn't announced his election platforms yet.

We know Rob Ford's various platforms but not Doug Ford's.

I think Doug Ford said he will make an announcement next week.

This is happening too fast.

Also, they are just making it up as it goes along. Too many other real serious issues at play here in the Ford family, other than filling cut off times and electioneering platforms.

Any platform should come out after the diagnosis I think.

They can make an announcement like next week, that they intend to provide details on certain issues, but save that for a later week.

Or let the platform trickle out, due to health concerns and time spent on that.

That way, the attention remains focused on Ford, and the spotlight on their policies, if they have any.

Doug won't get much of a "bye". Probably until Sunday.

That fact is he chose to take it on, and with that comes the responsibility, the focus, and the questions about his platform, past, and all the rest.

He could have chosen not to run if he needs to focus on his Brother.

Quite simply the entire city of over 3 million shouldn't have to wait on one family, no matter what personal health issues are occuring. I'm of course sympathetic. But that's life.

Do the Ford's really think they are an empire?
That one of them deserves to lead the city?

Doug callously jumps in as a duty to his brother?
Weird.

The most laughable is the poor nephew, sister Kathy's son who changed his name to Ford so he could 'inherit' the family's Council seat. Now that ailing Rob is too sick to be Mayor, but not too sick for his old gig, young Mike thinks his new name entitles him to a school trustee seat. 'Entitles' because he's yet to make a speech, or announce any policy to appeal to thinking voters.

If ever there was a self-nominated elite in TO it would be the Fords.

The Kennedy's of Toronto....
With the Kennedys, it was bootlegger's kids that did good. Should we have been less dismissive of Doug's daughter's Lingerie Football career? Or frightened of what his other K-named Kids might get up to?

If I were Doug Ford I would apologize to the people of Toronto for the harm done to the city by my family. I would then endorse Olivia Chow, and make a large financial contribution to her campaign.

If *I* were Doug Ford.
