So I'm renewing my house insurance this month.
I have been with my insurer for ages, but decided to get an alternate quote from RBC.
The annual premium is significantly cheaper than what I am currently paying (about 50%).
The only significant difference I can find is that the liability coverage is 1mil instead or 2mil, and RBC does not offer the $25,000 identity theft coverage.
A very quick google search shows that identity theft insurance can cost about $10 a month (from protectionpower.ca).
Do any of you have this kind of coverage? What are your thoughts?
I've never had so much as a credit card compromised, but a friend of mine did have her identity stolen (new credit cards, car purchases), and it was a nightmare to get everything sorted out.
