your gonna have to take that laptop apart, pull the little button battery out of the mainboard for a few seconds . . . . then you should be ready to go
After checking a little more for you it looks like it's an even bigger problem with the T30. But!... have a look on ebay.ca and search for thinkpad password. There's a guy with the handle "cuiinc" who seems to have a number of happy customers he's help out. (you'll need to solder in a new chip from him) he's got one for you now at $114.62 Cdn.
thanks guys for ur time and helps. Friend of mine said i gotta change the motherboard if i remove the battery(on board) and put it back in. IBM is different from others.
