IBM Computers

Anybody have any experience with IBM computers? My neighbour wants to sell his. I'll take a look at it later this week. (My Hewitt Packard is about 8 years old now.)

Laptop or desktop....? Laptops are not bad...the desktops were made with cheap intel motherboards at one point. Prices are down for new computers....Like Workingman said depends whats inside , how old etc...

What is a server? My neighbour said the machine is actually used by his daughter in her office.

I finally got to see this IBM computer. We spoke to a friend of a friend and he said that it does seem like it was used as a server. He said we need to install an O/S, he suggested LINUX MINT, for this computer to work as a normal P.C.
