It freaking kills me the number of times I hear that. I asked my doctor how many overweight people had gland problems, I was told it was somewhere like 1 in 500 to 1 in 1500. Hell, I'm overweight, but I can admit that it is because I love food too much and I don't exercise nearly enough.

Fuck, at least I can admit it.

Look you point is valid, but doesn't go far enough. At 1:1500, how many of those 5,000 adults care and do anything about it. If it is a gland problem the treatment is there with medication. The problem is most don't care to do anything about it, for any number of reasons that's a key. A lot say it's my life and I'll do what I want. They die around 65 and leave family and friend to suffer the loss. It's not just their life.

It sounds like you do care and that's good.

I do care. I'm overweight, but I am not obese. I exercise on a regular basis, walk about an hour a day, workout on a heavy and speed bag, go for a couple of bike rides a week, go hiking at least once a week, but the problem remains... I consume too much food. For a larger person I would consider myself pretty fit, though I don't have the body to prove it.

There is a big difference between a larger person who keeps active, and somebody who has just let it go all to pot and leads a totally sedentary lifestyle. I refuse to become one of those people.

I am active aand eat well. Lucky I guess. You have to be active but it's the least efficient way to lose weight. Cutting back on calories is where you'll have the most gain.

And congrats to Cycleguy. He lost half of one of my ex-girlfriends!!!

Thanks, but it was 3 years ago... I consider myself a new person now. That guy is no longer...

Start slow with situps... You will need to increase your core strength. Then progress to leg lifts and crunches...

When you have increased your core strength enough, you can move up to cycling crunches and planks.

Above all, though, keep doing the cardio... as you will need to work off those "stored calories". ;)

Precisely why I mentioned the part about:

Agree with most of what you've said except I found that having a trainer on and off at a reputable gym and seeing my doctor every three months was a very safe way to go.

No offense meant but you lost too much weight too fast and that could do damage to ones inner organs.

That said your sperm count is definitely up. More kids...:)

Don't get me started on the $50billion "weight loss" industry:( . It is all a racket to make some people rich. Studies have shown that slightly overweight people live longer than thin people. Besides, I like women with some "meat on their bones". (Actually, I'll take any woman with or without meat on their bones.)

North Americans are so wasteful. We spend billions of dollars every year on:
1) Unnecessarily losing weight.
2) Buying dog and cat food.
3) Watering our nice green grass lawns.
4) Tanning salons.
5) Cosmetic surgeries.

WASTE! WASTE! WASTE!
