I've always been a true Leaf fan. I still can't get over the fact that Mats Sundin took total advantage of the toronto maple leafs. Due to Sundin's stubborness the leafs got absolutely nothing in return for him.

I also happen to like the chicago black hawks. They are a young exciting and fast skating team.

I enjoyed the game last night. I think the Hawks will beat Vancouver in 6 games.

I hate to say it but I'm cheering for the Black Hawks. It would be nice to finally see a Canadian team win the Cup again but in this case Vancouver has far less Canadian/North American content than the Hawks.

The only Cdn teams I'd cheer for are the Leafs, the Flames or maybe the Sens because I lived in Ottawa for 5 years.

I know its hard for Leafs fans to fathom, but perhaps the unprofesssional way the organization AND leafs fans treated him last year dictated some of his decisions this year. People change there perspectives after enduring such bullshit.

They change there minds after there honour is questioned and dragged into the media. You want to hate someone hate Cliff Fletcher for making this a public issue. If Leafs fans had any class they would have been all over Fletcher. Instead they decided to disrespect one of there stars,

Another stupid Leafs thread

Why should Mats Sundin be reviled when you have an ownership group that treats its fans with absolute contempt. They missed the playoffs so how did ownership compensate for this - they raised ticket prices. On game night the ACC is a mausoleium, true fans are not allowed into the arena. If you're watch the game you are treated to the indignity of empty platinum seats; the affluent ditch pigs are too busy with their caviar and champagne to bother with the game. Why would Mats feel beholden to these wastes of skin.

Sorry BD I didn't notice your playoff pool in the other thread before today . You're right I should have made my predictions before the 2nd round series started.

It was just watching Mats Sundin last night skating in a canucks uniform that encouraged me to start this new thread!

Just going off topic a bit. I never really considered Mats Sundin to be a true leaf star. IMHO he never displayed the grit and tenacity of a Dougie Gilmour or Wendel Clark.

I will never forget Dougie Gilmour's amazing performance in the 1993 playoff series vs st. Louis or wendel's tremendous performance when the leafs lost to Wayne Gretzky and the LA kings in the nhl semi-finals also in 1993.

Exactly how did Mats Sundin take advantage of the Toronto Maple Leafs?

He signed a contract that included a no-trade provision. No-trade provisions usually indicate that the player wants to ply his trade for that team, and in exchange for the no-trade, the player will sign for less money.
All Mats did was live up to the contract. He took advantage of no one, and was in no way disloyal.
Perhaps your anger and frustration should be directed toward the management of MLSEL, for offering the no-trade in the first place.

I was just watching basketball all day and after the Nuggets/Mavs game I was flipping channels and I saw there is a hockey game going on on NBC in the third OT period. LOL. Just what NBC dreaded. I hope this game goes to 5 or 6 OTs I wanna see what NBC does, will they stay with the game or will they go to their sunday primetime programming. My guess is the latter.
