Between a rock and a hard place
I'm sure in real life he couldnt mix his own martini, let alone power his hand-built household entertainment system on a single car battery during a hurricane.

At least he’s a lot more tolerable then that god awful Scrooge character they had for years saying “Give like Santa and save like Scrooge. I use to get so sick of that guy…. Every year right about now he would pop up again… they finally got rid of him or maybe he finally did the right thing and died..... thank god he's gone!

The "Handy couple"

Ive always referred to them as the Canadian Tire Handy Couple,i recall one time going into Canadian Tire and asking for something which i couldnt recall the name of and i told the guy its the thing that the Handy Couple use in their latest commercial,he laughed and said, ohyeah i got that right here, later on telling a friend of mine this he said that if they were a real life couple theyd need a house the size of the Air Canada Centre to be able to keep all the stuff that they bought at Canadian Tire!

It's a brilliant advertising campaign. Even if you think the guy is aggravating, everyone knows who the Canadian Tire guy is.

I can't stand him. "Look what I bought today" to his trying his best neighbour. If he lived next door to you, you would want to kill him. After borrowing his "only" $499 gadget, of course.
And of course as this is Terb. Anyone taken a good look at his Mrs? Looks kinda raunchy. Get a couple of drinks in her and some lingerie. Well I like redheads. :p

Think about it this way

So, the Canadian Tire guy is an actor. He plays characters on TV for a living. He got a good gig with this commercial campaign. He reads the scripts they give him. I doubt he is very excited by that particular role, but hey, it's a good gig so he can keep cashing in the cheques. Now, once the campaign is over, what kind of commercial work do you think he's going to get? Talk about major type casting! As for the money, I don't have any idea of the amount we're talking about, but I doubt it's enough to set him up for life. Let's face it, it's a Canadian Tire commercial campaign, not a bluckbuster Hollywood movie. So, I assume he's made a decent middle-class living (whatever that means) for a while, and now he's kind of fucked as far as television acting is concerned. It might be time for him to think of a new line of work, even if what he wants to do is acting.

So, give the working guy a break.

I have made a point of going to Home Depot instead of Cdn Tire just because of the ads ......so not all that brilliant.

He is definitely annoying and always reminds me of that saying "Having to keep up with the Jones'." He IS Mr. Jones!! LOL.
The day before my MacLeans arrived, I saw this guy (again) and all I could think was that he really needs a life. I suppose it's a sign of how pervasive he is that I briefly thought he was "real".

Wouldn't he be a great neighbour though? You'd never have to go to the store again...
