I don't read too many tech sites on a daily religious basis, too much information that changes almost on an hourly basis.
So when I read about the HTC Titan in another thread, I thought I'd look it up and wow...

Looks very promising, hope my contact at M$ can hook me up if I ever have a dire need for a new phone - I just hope that you can change those lime green tiles to a different colour. I also hope you can install Swype on MS based phones, LOVE Swyping. Regular typing absolutely blows.

Android - the present
Windows Phone 7 - the future

Ok. So it has a big screen. Some other specs would have been nice.

There are a few rumoured 4.7" Android 720P phones rumoured to be available by the end of the year too.

Wow, 4.7" is almost a mini tablet size at that dimension.
A bit much (for me) but geeezus.

A friend of mine had a 5" Dell Streak, it was too large, he got rid of it.. I think anything over 4.3" is really pushing it.

That's exactly what I thought of when you mentioned 4.7" screen, the Streak, forgot the name.
I bet Michael Dell is real proud of that genius product. lol

I completely agree though, 4.3"+ is overkill, may as well get a small tablet at that point.

I have a samsung omnia 7 running windows phone 7 mango beta 2 and I love it. Phone is okay (waiting for samsung focus s) but I love the the OS. Doubt I'll ever return to iOS. every once in a while I have to return to my iPhone 4 for something I left on it and it seems to "dead" when compared to wp7. And yes you can change the co our of the tiles.

The sad thing is the 4.7" screen is still 800x480 and CPU is single core, both a requirement of Microsoft if you want to build WP7 hardware. Sounds like something RIM would do. If they're going to dictate what specs are necessary, you would think they would aim a little higher for late 2011.

Do you find it to be faster accessing applications than iOS or Android (if you've tried it).
I only used a Windows phone for a quick minute from my buddy at Microsoft, but he had to go.
Seemed snappy when the tiles folded and when scrolling, but his phone is about a year or so old.

I have never used android. I find it to be very responsive. Scrolling is very good. I had a short time with windows 7 and it was okay but with the mango update it is very quick. My phone itself is not as fast as the iPhone 4 but with the new phones coming out it is sure to get better.

I read somewhere recently that a guy on CNET said that windows phone 7 was the most stable of the operating systems. Didn't have to do a cold boot in all the time he had the phone.

It does not have the swipe keyboard that I see on the android commercials. But the auto correct I have found to be much better than iOS and the word prompts that appear while typing is also very helpful.

What was a surprise was the text to speech feature. I didn't know that it would go through the cars blue tooth the way it does for texting. I love the ability to do voice texting (sending and receiving) while driving.
