They seem to gloss over some details - like food/ human waste for a few months. Is there an astronaut left on the circling transit vehicle ? Does the returning vehicle dock on the ISS or split apart for another re-entry back to the surface of earth ?

If I understood correctly - I like the idea of tethering the two parts of the ship and spinning (toppling) the two craft around the centre cable axis to create the artificial gravity. Never heard of that idea.

The problem is getting back. The solution presented, to create hydrogen or methane is not a serious solution.

I like the MarsOne solution: not getting back.

A one way ticket followed by care packages to keep the colony going.
