With all the problems people have been having recently with hacked accounts and spyware, I've decided to post a list of steps to do to protect yourself. I would advise ALL SPs and prominent individuals from this site to do the following:
First thing is to check for viruses. The biggest problem is that most people do not update their virus scanner and therefore the new strands of virus go undetected. Visit the following FREE site and run the virus scanner from their end. This will scan your computer for viruses and whenever you go back, the scan will always be up-to-date! Bookmark this site:

Next, we must scan for spyware. Go to the following link and download Ad-Aware as it too is FREE. Install it and have it remove all spyware and scumware components.

Finally, you need to stop people from being able to access your computer. This could be done by purchasing a router or by using software. The best and easiest piece of software is Zone Alarm. The program can be downloaded for FREE at
http://www.zonealarm.com
Remember, all these tools are free and will protect you from outsiders.
