This is something I've never done before (manually) and, as a result, normally I wouldn't want to mess around with it. However, I bought the full version of Active SMART online and they sent me an email with a registry edit that I need to implement in order for the program to recognize me as a full purchaser rather than just a trial user.

The email reads as follows:

"Thank you for purchasing Active SMART by Ariolic Software.

Your personal registration key file attached to this letter.

You should run new version of Active SMART at least once before
registration action.
After this, please open the attached key file in your E-mail client
(point at the attach name with the mouse cursor and then double-click
on it). Answer "Yes" to question. After that you'll see the following
message: 'Information has been successfully entered into the registry'.

Then run Active SMART and you will find your name under the 'Registered
to:' string (About tab). If so, all shareware restrictions are automatically
removed from your version."

The following is at the bottom of the email. It doesn't help that the email's English isn't very good either!

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ariolic\ActiveSMART\Options]
followed by "Key" with a bunch of code (which I don't want to post publicly in case it's specific to my account).

I'm running the latest version of Active SMART, as the instructions tell me to do. Now I just need to edit the registry.

Please help! (p.s., I use Hotmail but not Outlook)

save the the text in notepad from the letters "Regedit to the last text letter" and save it to a file but with an extension .reg

eg filename.reg

make sure you have filename extension unhiddden as notepad may name it with an txt extension.

eg filenname.reg.txt

double click on the file and it will import the file into the registry.
