Just usual consumption, not counting nights of partying or excessing.
I live alone and find I usually use up maybe 1 or 2 bottles of wine and a 750 of Crown Royal every 7-10 days. A shot or two each day after work.
Is that a lot?

I live alone. I go through a 6 pack every 8 weeks or so, and a bottle of single malt can last a year. I only open wine if I have company over.

Drinking out with friends is another matter.

Alcohol is one of my motivations to socialize.

Of course I'm saying that on a Friday night but tonight I'm on pain meds that are almost as good.

Lots of alcoholics in my family so I try to be careful.

Anyways, when I am not working on CGA course material (including right now), I average about 15 drinks a week at home. It's too damn expensive to go out to drink most of the time. I was in a bar down at the Queens Quay a few weeks ago.... I had 3 Stellas, and I ended up paying $32 for them with a reasonable tip. That's BR and FYEO prices.

However, when I'm working on CGA course material, it takes me about 2 months to go through a 6-pack. Quite the difference.

It really depends on why you drink it. If you are doing it just to relax, then a couple of drinks a night is no big deal. However, if you are doing it to "dull the pain of living" or "to forget your troubles", that is a potential problem.

I only drink (beer) on weekends, while I am preparing dinner for me and the missus. I get through a doz. Creemore every 2wks.

Far to much - I can go through 24 beer and 5 or 6 bottles of red wine in a week and that is not counting what my guests bring in.

Was like that at that age but got tried of feeling like crap more often than feeling great. First I cut the booze out in my 20's, then the weed and pills went out in my upper 30's. Now I use just about nothing and feel great 90% of the time.

Getting old stinks, party up well you still can enjoy it.

I look a lot younger though, I got asked for ID at Casino Niagara Falls last week.

WTF is wrong with me? I take one 222 pill, the next day I have a headache half the day. If I smoke, my throat gets sore-well thats cause I don't stop

I am told I don't look my age but then I have never been ID at any casinos. Then again for a 42 y.o. to look like 18 is darn good, I look mid 30's.

Depends on your POV: to me, that's a lot....especially if you're doing it ahem alone.

When I drank, rarely would I ever have a beer or two alone. Usually when someone came over or once in a blue moon I'd buy a poverty pack for home. But out? socializing? or taking a gang out on the lake? that's a different story......

That sounds about right, except that I usually only drink on the weekends and sometimes before work (not much).

I am good for a few glasses of red wine per week and shoot for 1 per night since they claim it is good for the ticker.

At 43 I have definitely slowed down but feel like a big break out is due soon
