How long do you wait?

 Here is the scenario. You have made arrangements to see an Indie, at, lets say 9:00pm. The day of the event you have checked into your hotel and left a message on her answering machine, confirming and giving her your room number. Along comes 9:00pm and she has not arrived.
How long do you wait before you go to sleep, get drunk or call someone else? Assume that you get her answering machine each time you call her again.
This has happened to me twice in the last two months. Once I picked the second option, once I waited one-half hour and called an agency. What is fair?

Not Long!!

In the age of cell phones, no more than 15-20 with a reasonable explanation (ie, the QEW is jammed, can't find the location etc.) Besides, if she's running late with another client, do you really want to see her with appts that close together??

Yeah in this day and age of cell phones, unless you get a confirmation call stating she will be there at 9, just assume she is not going to show up. Never trust the voicemail and her word on being there. Always have a confirmation call, unless you know her and she does this regularly.

Fair is 10 percent off for every 6 minutes late. And after one hour a freebee plus 100% rebate in cash.

a scientific approach to the problem

Surveys say that 1 in 4 appts ends as a no-show; estimate at least 50% of the time escort will arrive 20 - 30 minutes late. Try following these rules. Make sure you have a definite agreement to meet (don't assume). Call her phone if she's 10 minutes late, that will at least give you a clue as to where the appointment is going. If she doesn't show in 30 call her voice mail and leave a message that if she doesn't show in another 10 minutes (give a specific time), you'll make other arrangements. I am a firm believer in always having a back-up plan. Bottom line is that she ain't there until she's there no matter what she promises. I've been stood up at least a few times and expect to get stood up again. Having a specific plan to deal with lateness makes the time a little easier to stand. I like to feel like I have some control and there's a good chance that I'm going to have somewhat of a good evening. I am not a believer in changing the rate based on how late she is. That approach can lead to a real bad time and perhaps bloodshed.

I believe 30 minutes is more than fair to wait... with a call to the agency after 15 minutes looking for an explanation. Try to work with the more respected agencies and your risk should be minimized.
