I am middle-aged and have never been married. I am frequently asked by SPs and MPAs why I have never been married. I usually mumble some lame response to the question. I am sure that I am not the only one who enounters this question. How do you respond?

Just use your Terb handle. You decided to stay single because you are "havingfun". Seems reasonable - and for many it's actually the truth!

I get this all the time too and I just say: Hey, I'm no brad pitt and I'm not a knight in shining armor. WIth the way the canadian winters are its too friggin cold to wear steel!

I find that the majority of women these days are also too picky. I mean come on girls, we're not all rich, we're not all drop dead gorgeous, and if we were? We'd be insecure little snots whose main concern is making money, which wouldn't leave too much time for a relationship!

One time, after performing daty on an sp for about 45 minutes, I made her legs weak and her head spin she asked me that same question: I said "cause you can't tell what kind of a lover I am when you look at me in a bar".
Remember the same goes for good looking guys as it does for women: They just slide on their looks and most good looking guys I've met cheat, whine and always need a bevy of women chasing after em ...either that or they're gay!

Too busy, too picky and having waaaay too much fun...

I'll grow up eventually, I guess. Right now I'm still a Toys R Us kid and I like to shop.

I get it to . I find that people who ask really don't want or will understand your answer. I am not sure myself why I never married . Perhaps I never wanted commitment .

Perhaps a good answer is because I want my freedom.
Will this be enough to satisfy those who ask?. i don't know or care.

I think that men are more picky then women. :D

Yes most women are too picky . They might marry a good man but aren't satisfied. Women just like to complain and find fault.
The house isn't big enough . We need this or that etc etc

I get the same question even though me and the SP belong to the same age group! Many would ask me whether I have GF afterwards. Kind of strange since I haven't reached 30s yet!!

My take would be just telling them I never date and chase girls around the campus or bars or whereever. The SPs tend to be amazed since this is too good to be true.

Plus, I may say it is too expensive to invest yourself emotionally and financially to somebody you really love, but don't know whether she really like you and mean it in return, or take the advantage to exploit you or freak out in the process!!

BTW, I would ask the same question to the SP, ask her whether she has boyfriends/or what not? Chances are she will stop asking next time.

Here is my standard response.

When someone you know asks’ "are you married yet?"

the rebuttal is:

To Man:
- that is the weakest proposal I ever got, I'll think about it.

To Woman:
- I am saving myself for a special ( name of girl asking you)

To be an ass to a girl:
- do you think a woman like you can handle me.

To a fellow friend:

- Well I am seeing someone ( name of his girlfriend) so on and so on... she has a boyfriend who is a dud and she is waiting to dump him tonight.

==== new ones I have come up with.

I have 25 cousins and 80% of them are woman. SO I know what I don't like in a woman.

IF I do get married are you ready to buy me a 4 digit gift.?

Are you proposing to me or asking me?
--- Well then why do you ask me. Why haven't you found one? or how many times have you been married?
