How can you tell someone is using a texting app?

I have tried several times to figure this out on my own but I can figure it out. How do you know someone is using an app?

I'm having a huge problem with fake bookings and people wasting my time with ridiculous requests and absurd conversations. They try to send me to fake locations. I recently moved to a new area, but I also shot down a pimp that came back to the area and if he's not doing it all himself he's getting other girls to mess with me too. It's really only bad when I know he's around and i think he set up shop here for the time being. There's certain girls he puts up and I noticed when they're not busy because they probably cant afford an incall the harassment is really bad.

I need to do something to at least prevent some of the harassment.

I also don't do incalls, but I dont work out of sleazy motels and air bnb's. I live in a nice home and I'd rather not always be away from it living out of a bag in a roach motel.

Texting apps don't support the new RCS style text messages yet, only basic SMS. All modern Android and Iphone's now support RCS.

So if you see the message is coming as SMS its a good chance it's an app.

Second method is to plug the area code and first three digits into the site below, It's one of the major mobile carries you're good to go. MY TextNow app shows up at Distributel

RCS is the new protocol to replace SMS, transition started this year, and SMS is fully backwards compatible with RCS so it's seamless so far for most people. The latest iOS and Android updates fully support it. This will give Android and Iphone users the ability to group chats and send more media between iMessage on iPhone and radiational SMS apps on Android.

If you are an iPhone user, you will only see it when texting an Android friend through iMessage. It will say RCS in the text box.

Free carrier lookup has server issues, takes a long time load a lot of the time and has a search limit. I use to use it but don’t anymore. I have found better.

True caller is not bad and some escorts swear by it. Many in the states use it to list bad dates as well but it is not used in Canada a lot. I have never used it though. I found a system that works well for me and hasn’t let me down yet. And without the need for a 3rd party app.

So does the site that I use. It is cleaner design wise the your suggestion however and I prefer entering the entire number. Doesn't make a difference in the search I guess but makes me feel better know I have search the actual full number instead of just part of it. If that makes sense.

I PMed the OP directly with my system. She is free to chose her own method of course.

I tried this and the results are inaccurate. It shows the original carrier associated with the number, not the current carrier. If you port your number this website doesn't recognize that.
