How can I tell if my Blackberry is unlocked

Almost three years ago I got a Blackberry 8100 Pearl from Rogers as part of a voice and data package. I don't remember if I made the trip to Pacific Mall to get it unlocked.

How can I find out before I head off to Europe....or should I just wait and get it unlocked over there?

Best thing I can think of is see if any of your friends are on another network and try their sim in it.
