I make 110k in private sector (base + bonus that varies annually). I have to perform to a certain level as in get things done and be always working on projects (as a capital resource, not opex or I'm looking to get laid off). No wage increase beyond 2% cost of living in 5 years.
I was looking at the Sunshine list and people in my profession are making six figures in the public sector too. Plus I think they also get DB pension plans, correct? There are no quarterly results and layoffs there, no need to justify expenses to shareholders and CFO and CEO, no outsourcing, no having to work over time.
Does anyone else think that it is now diminishing returns in the private sector and the public sector is where it is at?
