Sabres vs Capitals 6-3
There seems to be an interesting winning strategy for the Sabres this game, namely work your opponents long and hard in the first period, score fast and furious goals by half a dozen or more. Then relax a little and let your enemies score a few goals for the rest of the game and you still come out a winner. LOL!!! It can be said that the Sabres has not played a full 60 minutes game for a long time. One wonders if they are saving their energy for the forthcoming playoffs.

Ahhh...the law of conservation of energy!!! See, there is only so much energy to give, so conserve as much as you can especially when it is virtually certain that you are winning. LOL!!!
Perhaps beating good teams and losing to bad ones is a way to balance the standing and power ranking in NHL. Indeed the entire Northeast division seems to be caught up in some kind of schizo-affective disorder. For example, after beating an excellent team the Predators 7-2, the Sabres could not muster enough scores to beat the bottom feeder, the St. Louis Blues, losing 3-2. Toronto finally won one tonight against Minnesota after losing three in a row. Ottawa always beat the Sabres but is losing more games than winning. Montreal finally lost one after winning five in a roll. Boston also beat good teams like New Jersey and Montreal but lost to the lowly Blue Jackets. Sometimes you just don't know until the fat lady sings. LOL!!!
